We invite you on a little journey — no suitcases or passports needed. In one evening, we’ll head to a place of bright sun, bustling markets, the aroma of cinnamon, cumin, and fried eggplant. A place where food is not just nourishment, but a reason to gather, talk, remember, and laugh. A culinary trip to the East, where food is a gesture of kindness. Where the table is a place of connection, and every dinner feels like a celebration.
We will cook, taste, and discover: what’s eaten in Arab homes, how they brew coffee with cardamom, and why arak is sipped slowly. This is not a lesson — it's a friendly evening where there’s no fear of not knowing — on the contrary, curiosity is welcome.
The recipes are simple, but full of character. Together we’ll prepare hummus and enjoy it with soft flatbreads. It turns out far tastier than store-bought (and much more economical to make yourself). We’ll treat you to the Dervish’s Rosary — hearty and comforting like a Sunday dinner. And for dessert — Arabic coffee and a touch of magic: a fortune reading in the coffee grounds. Just for fun.
The event takes place at Väike Karja 1 – Mys home resto (Olelukoe)
